The Sydney Sixers defeated the Highveld Lions by five wickets in Cape Town to put themselves on the verge of a semi-final place in the Champions League Twenty20 tournament.
Something had to give at Newlands as the Lions and the Sixers - both boasting two wins from two matches - met in Champions League Twenty20 Group B.
Having lost the toss and been put into bat, Highveld captain Alviro Petersen was caught behind on five.
Fellow opener Gulam Bodi gave a better account of himself.
The Indian-born South African international reached his half-century off 32 balls and soaked up the applause.
By then Quentin de Kock and Neil McKenzie had followed Petersen back into the pavilion, having both edged deliveries to Sydney captain and wicket-keeper Brad Haddin.
When Zander de Bruyn went the same way for four, the Lions were 91-4 in the 14th over.
They eventually posted 137-9.
Bodi was out LBW to Mitchell Starc on 61 having hit seven boundaries.
Starc then bowled Jean Symes - following his quick-fire 23 - en route to bowling figures of 3-19 off his four overs.
Michael Lumb and Shane Watson opened the batting for Sydney and made a solid start, establishing a fifty partnership early in the eighth over.
Lumb was the first to be dismissed, bowled - on 22 - by Aaron Phangiso.
And Phangiso immediately got rid of Lumb's replacement, Dominic Thornely, despite a wide delivery - Thami Tsolekile with the smart stumping.
Watson reached 47 before he skied one to the wicketkeeper - once again, Phangiso was the bowler.
But things were already looking good for the Sixers - and a 32 from Haddin, off just 21 balls, set up a comfortable five-wicket victory.
Steven Smith's boundary brought proceedings to a close.
After the match Haddin admitted he has already begun thinking about the semi-finals. Sydney plays the Mumbai Indians in their final group game in Durban.
