You don't get more British than the Spice Girls and Monty Python, so it was only fitting that both played a part in the London 2012 Closing Ceremony.
The iconic pop band once again donned skirts and heels, urging the capacity crowd at Olympic Stadium to “Spice up your life!”.
Monty Python’s Eric Idle also made a notable contribution, leading the crowd in ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’.
The rendition, complete with Roman centurions and Scottish bagpipers, ended with stunt people being launched from a cannon.
Watch highlights from the musical performances at the Closing Ceremony.
