The shopkeeper is not an idiot. Why should he meekly back down and let total losers like this get something for nothing? Thieves are cowards, the last thing they want to happen is get caught. Two guys robbed our local dairy, attacking the female owner and her 13 yr old daughter. Luckily the girl screamed her head off, woke up half the street and the police swarmed. One of the thieves ran away, across the street and was hit by a motorist. This was two months ago. Last I heard the little swine was still in hospital badly injured. You make decisions and reap what you sow.

Shop keepers an idiot.. won't see me risking my life for a few measly hundred dollars. I think this will just encourage theifs to use more dangerous tactics next time thus worsening crime in NZ. Just lucky this story ended better than it could have

Nigel, he must be one of the Beagle Boys!! A nasty fat gutted one. Someone must recognise him and should turn him in to the Police, as these lowlife should be jailed. Well done Mr Garage owner and thankfully you are a very much alive hero.

Good on the shop owner! People are fed up of being helpless defenceless victims often being killed in an attack, and NZ will see more and more people having to take the law in their own hands and protect their lives and livelihoods ...NZers have been too placid in the past, and it's about time Kiwis take on a robber and defend their home or shop!

That is hilarious especially the part where they both stop to take a breather, with the whole thing made even funnier by the robbers choice of shirt.
