A train equipped with a snowplow has helped clear a way through the Trans Alpine Line in Canterbury’s main divide.

At times the snow was so deep it shot 5m into the air.

absolutely beautiful I remember the days when we could take a trip to Arthurs Pass and play in the snow and then when the train was on its way back to CHCH we got back on and we had hot chocolate the train was always there but thank you for the happy childhood memory is so sad that the children today dont get the treasures
