Valerie Adams' world shot put domination continued as the New Zealander dominated a Diamond League meet in Birmingham on Monday (NZt).

Double Olympic champion Adams secured her third win since her victory at the London Games, producing a series of throws well beyond her rivals.

Her first effort of 20.52m proved her best, with other counting throws measuring 20.18m, 20.25m, 20.21m and 20.49m.

Michelle Carter of the United States was a distant second with a best of 18.71m while Cleopatra Borel of Trinidad was third with 18.36m.

After winning, Adams said she was hopeful of being presented with her Olympic gold medal at the Zurich Diamond League meet on Friday morning.

Adams finished second to Nadzeya Ostapchuk at London but was promoted to gold when the Belarusian failed a doping test.

"I'm hoping Zurich, hoping there," Adams told BBC television.

"If not there, I'm sure New Zealand will put something on for me to receive it at home.

"She (Ostapchuk) robbed me of the moment. I think that hurts more. I should've been celebrating but unfortunately she took that moment away from me."

Ostapchuk has protest the doping result and it is unclear whether she has handed back her gold medal.
