Labour MP Louisa Wall’s private member’s bill legalising same-sex marriage was pulled out of the ballot yesterday and will start its journey through Parliament.

Most MPs spoken to by reporters were undecided but there were some who were staunch in the side they will take.

Most notably against the bill was NZ First MP Richard Prosser who gave a definitive “no”, saying it goes against the institution of marriage.

Conservative Party leader Colin Craig has also opposed the bill saying it is "not intelligent to pretend that homosexual relationships are normal".

His fellow party member Brendan Horan says there were far more important things to worry about but would consult his party before making his decision.

Government ministers Bill English, Tony Ryall, Jonathan Coleman, Amy Adams, David Carter and Steven Joyce all said they hadn’t given it much thought.

Green MP Kevin Hague says he and his 14-strong party will support the bill.

United Future leader Peter Dunne says he supports gay marriage and will vote for the bill in its first reading.

Maori Party co-leader Pita Sharples says the time has come for same-sex marriage and he will vote in favour for the bill.

National MP Jonathan Young says he would consult his electorate before saying anything but his colleague Tau Henare says he would support it.

"Unchristian" by David Kinnaman (This book talks about the christian faith being hypocritical among other things. If you are a christian that is open to truth, you would agree that we're not all perfect, we're all sinners, and we are hypocrites. Amazing book)

"The Children Are Free" by Rev. Jeff Miner and John Tyler Connoley (Book on reexamining the biblical evidence on same-sex relationships. It's a must have book)

I really hope that one day Colin Craig can see the truth in that people's hatred, intolerance and ignorance does not change someones sexuality. NOTHING does.

I hope Louisa Wall's Bill is passed in all three stages not only for equality, but for freedom and love as well.

At one time homosexuality was not widely accepted but is now and civil unions are allowed. If same sex marriage is goig to be allowed then the next logical step is to allow incestuous marriage. What do the liberals think of that.
