Will Davison of Ford Performance Racing has won a gripping Top 10 Shootout at Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama.
Davison was faster than Team Vodafone driver Jamie Whincup by just 0.0369s to grab pole position.
“It’s awesome,” Davison tells BigPond Sport. “It doesn’t give you any championship points, but it’s such a special part of Bathurst history. As a driver, this is a big moment, pure gold.”
Sunday’s big race begins at 12.35pm NZT.
