Boobs on Bikes could become Vaginas on Vespas and hooters on scooters.
The crowd at yesterday’s parade was significantly smaller than any of the previous eight years, with organiser Steve Crow saying people are just “over it”.
Police estimate several thousand people watched the convoy of bare-chested women ride down Queen Street - a big drop from the 90,000 at last year's event.
“There were less then half the amount of people there this year compared to last year,” says organiser Steve Crow.
“It is totally legal so it is totally passé.”
Mr Crow says he might “spin it up” in an effort to win back the crowd.
“If we do have one next year I want to start organising it straight away,” he says.
“I want to get 1000 bikes.”
This year there were just 48 bikes.
Mr Crow is also looking towards other forms of two wheel transport, include a Hooters on Scooters parade, or Vaginas on Vespas.
He says Boobs on Bikes may have “done its dash”.
“To be honest it is a pain in the arse,” he says.
Boobs on Bikes was only ever meant to be a one off event in 2003, but because of the huge response it was made into an annual event.
Now that fewer people are turning up, Mr Crow says it may be time to stop the event - at least for a few years.
Mr Crow says whether the Boobs on Bikes parade continues will be decided after the Erotica Expo this weekend.
At least 12,000 free passes to the expo were given out during the parade - to determine whether it does in fact help to boost the numbers as originally intended.
Stop Demand Foundation, who protested the Boobs on Bikes parade in 2008, declined to comment on Mr Crow’s plans.
