A security camera has captured the moments a big earthquake shook Vanuatu on Tuesday.

The video shows an office in Port Vila as the floors and walls begin to move.

Workers headed for the doors as the shaking became more severe in the quake that registered 7.3 on the Richter Scale.

Authorities say the 15 second earthquake, and an aftershock some hours later, caused goods to fall from shelves and some minor damage.

Panicked residents of vanuatu raced for higher ground, but there was no major damage or serious injuries.

Vanuatu is part of the pacific "ring of fire" an arc of earthquake and volcanic zones stretching from chile in south america through alaska and down through the south

Pacific.

my friend and I were in the Grand Hotel at the time of the first earthquake, it was truely very scary. When we got outside after the quake and looked back at the building we were in there were large cracks down the sides of the building so reports of damage where not quite correct and the fact that there were no checks done on the building before they let people back in was really bad. We were at the airport when the second Quake hit, about 600 people were trapped in one small room when the staff ran outside and left us all in there with NO way out..Nice way to treat vistors...We will never return

I came across a neat application to warn about earthquakes for iPad and iPhone. Sorry PC users! It sends push notifications for every earthquake event matching a user set magnitude criteria. I received the Haiti earthquake notification within a minute. I was surprised how common earthquakes are around the world! iPhone : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/quake-warn/id320655564?mt=8 iPad : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/quakewarn-hd/id381918732?mt=8
