Well done for standing up for the rights of the Battery hens. I have 5 ex-bats, who are now able to run, fly free in a 300 foot garden, and bathe in the sunshine, something that a year ago they hadn't seen. Just to remind everyone that Carl is in the cage by himself, most battery hens share a cage with more hens and get pecked by the others.

Good on the guy for making a stand. Animal cruelty is disgusting. Those who practice it are slime.
Animals have feelings too. If you have to slaughter an animal at least make it quick and in a humane way.
I think margaret's comments are a little 'extreme' about eating meat. After all we do have canine teeth in our mouths for a reason. However I do agree that a small group of people can make a difference.
It doesn't take much to make a change in the world. Simply buying eggs for a couple dollars more knowing that they are CERTIFIED free range does go a long way.
Im a meat eater myself but I chose where I buy it.

@Woodrow mate are you MENTAL! What do you mean no one needs to eat eggs? I LOVE eggs. You can stick that idea back up where it came from. But yeah free-range is the way to go, treat the animals with respect before we gobble em up hehe.
