Vidal Sassoon has passed away at the age of 84.

The renowned hair stylist and fashion icon died today at his Hollywood Hills home with his family by his side, according to TMZ.

Vidal’s signature bob haircut has been recreated by celebrities, movie stars and fashion-forward women alike.

He was reportedly diagnosed with leukemia three years ago but it is not yet known if he died from the disease.

Law enforcement officials say that he perished from an “unspecified illness”.

Vidal is survived by his fourth wife Rhonda Sassoon and three children.

He was last seen looking in great spirits last week where he was giving hair care tips right to the very end.

Vidal started out as a shampoo boy at the age of 14 before opening up his first salon in London in 1954. He went on to build a successful hair care empire.
