Heavy snow in a Chinese nature reserve has prepared the ground for two giant pandas to indulge in some playful antics.
The giant pandas, Hua'ao and Qingfeng, were transferred to Nanshan Park in Yantai, Shandong Province from Wolong Nature Reserve in Sichuan Province in May.
The pandas played in their snowy enclosure, delighting visitors with the occasional forward roll and a good deal of climbing.
Pandas are very comfortable with this sort of weather as they naturally live in cold areas at high altitude. Snow is therefore part of their original ecological environment.
At this time of year keepers at the reserve increase the pandas' daily diet in order to supply them with vitamins to help them stay healthy and warm.
