The global Occupy protests have been united by one symbolic image - the Guy Fawkes mask from the story of V for Vendetta.

In the original, its wearer leads a rebel movement against a repressive regime.

The book's author, Alan Moore, is a self-proclaimed anarchist. As such, his attitude towards the use of the image for the Occupy movement has been, until now, a matter of conjecture.

Channel 4 took Mr Moore along to St Paul's Cathedral to meet the London anti-capitalists camped outside.
