NZlanders should decide whether we accept drilling or not based on an amount of . This is our land so why not put it up to the referendum (make the most of referendums by voting on more than one stupid issue) so that if something bad happens we know who to blame. The profit margins are too low for the risk involved and if we leave it in the ground it's only going to get more valuable and the safety technology will improve. Also, unless we refine it here the benefits aren't going to outweigh the risks.

Oil leaked knows no boundaries - so when you spill from the EEZ it will spread right into our beaches and harbours. It is insanity to drill for oil in the Ruakumara Basin right next to a live volcano. Opotiki is about to invest millions in aquaculture development which will be completely destroyed by any spill. There is no economic benefit to New Zealanders to be gained by risking our pristine waters.

Petro-Braz Brizillian Petroleum Company has one of the Worse Safety and Enviroment Records in the World..
John Key and New Zealand Goverment leased that right to drill at sea at Gisborne' but what about the people of New Zealand we also have that right to stop any danger in our country..
BP up to the latest spill had one of the best Safety and enviroment records, so what chance does the New Zealand enviroment stand with Petro-Braz drilling our New Zealand waters?..
Is the Goverment going to impose Strict Safety and Enviroment Requirements on any Companies drilling for oil in our New Zeland waters, or are they going to be blinded with the money offered and to Hell with Safety and the Enviroment in our country..
The Gulf of Mexico still stuggling so ease off, we will be watching you and the danger from the Petro-Braz..
