TV3 - Considering how much attention you've given supposed AGW Climate Change, isn't it ethical journalism to cover the view that AGW climate change may not be valid? As journalism goes isn't that the basis of ethical reporting? The Climategate story is the buzz of the internet, at the very less it deserves ten minutes of air time. Or you could always run a puff piece about a stomach stapling operation, or perhaps something cute about a three legged dog delivering newspapers, which looks like the future of traditional news media, given your Climategate coverage so far.
Stop bagging NIWA!. WTF if this bunch of crooks want to blend the rules on whats science and whats politics then they have need get a real job. Dr Salinger was obviously a loose cannon!. Everyone at NIWA who thinks this is ok should resign now!.
@HeyMorons The world's scientific community is taking a very close look at NIWA's "science" in what the most widespread peer review of any New Zealand institution ever and its not pretty (see whatsupwiththat). This and climategate is todays news, not an alarmists point of view of nature taking its course.
Headsup TV3 - Breaking News. Google hits on the word "climategate" have gone from 0 to 7,100,000 in the course of one week. The longer you hold out the sillier you will look when you finally have no choice but to report the greatest scientific scandal of our time. Might like to take a peek at the fact that New Zealand's climate data is now under global scientific scrutiny since the rest of the world has been wised up to NIWA's pseudo-science in connection to same scandal.
Stop bagging NIWA. They've already showed that the CLimate Science Coalition have no idea what they're on about. They put out a statement this afternoon explaining the temperature adjustments - it's not lies, it's science. If you paid attention to facts and not jsut the wingnuts out there, you'd know that.
Maybe TV3 will have something on "Climategate" ask Dr Salinger onto a show with the NIWA puppets, and ask them for reasons why they needed to change the temperature record for NZ, Ask Alan Wishart to be there as well . Make sure you have a straight jacket for the nutjobs who start foaming at the mouth when they start lying!.
Glaciers have come and gone for millions of years - ice ages have come and gone - but is it a result of CO2 or the fact that the rainforests have been felled at alarming rates, thus limiting to absorption of CO2. There is no question in my mind that that is a fact, but to blindly put the blame on CO2 production could be stretching it. I accept that in the absence of good data, CO2 production should be halted at current levels (without penalties), reductions rewarded, but most importantly, the sum of world forests re-instated as the biggest priority. It is know for a very long time now that the world food production actually requires less land, as long as the best land is used for that. That means that there is plenty of room for re-forestation. That in its own will alter the world climate tremendously again. I am not advocating that man can just pollute at will, just caution, because there are already people becoming unduly wealthy re carbon trading - that means that others must be getting unduly poorer.
looking at the actual data sets and codes.. they seem to be using sunshine data to extrapolate cloud cover and then interchange cloud cover and precipitation almost effortlessly. I mean fair game I'm no meteorologist but it seems like they can trick the data reveal anything.. "Oh you didn't add the 'je ne sais quoi' coefficient? there.. that's better" The other thing they appear to be doing is comparing different places to show extreme average temp increases. We need a real scientific review (not by NIST) because it doesn't add up.
I find it interesting that the planet has gone through these stages in the past, warming and cooling, it's what the planet does. Yet now it's called "man made climate change". Smacks of a money making scheme. What are they going to think up next?
