Alcohol makes idiots. Changing the trading hours won't change a thing, people will just adopt the "public holiday attitude" where they will just buy more while the store is open so they have back up for when its closed. Punishing the store owners is what reducing trading hours will do, its not their fault. Police should have a separate alcohol related task force that concentrates on taking out the trouble before it happens, this is a better option since there are a lot of alcohol related incidents right across the board.
