We will continue witnessing these tragedies if we continue to deplete the oceans of the very food these creatures need to substain themselves & their young.
Evidence shows us that if we fish out the food chain to such irreversible damage - then we ruin the chances of their survival. We take out species one by one which in turn changes the diets of fish further up and down the chain. Autopsies carried out on whales have shown perforated stomach linings & squid. Squid are not on the top of the diet list for whale.
Is it any wonder they are washing up on our shores - they are ill & starving and above all simply are running out of food, strength & time

Everyone stop believing the Govt spin that all the Massive amounts of poisons put in every corner of bush in NEW ZEALAND can't hurt us. Look at all the News articles on Endangered Species in NZ. Yeah from POISONS. It all washes down. The lakes and Rivers, are now polluted with sediment and Erosion full of 1080, Cyanide and Brodificum etc. How often do we read not to swim or take Shellfish from rivers and beaches. The 1080 signs are still up 6 months after the drop so everything is still Toxic over 100s of 1000s of acres. Sometimes the sea is brown and you can see the sediment that washes into the sea hundreds of metres off shore. This is occuring all around NZ. There should be a complete BAN of all poisons in NZ before even the last butterfly in gone. TV3 and TV1 why don't you do some reporting that shows the truth, instead of 10% what very concerned people say and 90% what those causing it say.
