I am ashamed at what a hard time these news presenters gave the guy. Especially the guy on the left, should know his name but i dont watch TV. Company's freely advertise all manner of crap we dont need in life, but a guy that is interested in making people feel more comfortable to NOT believe in ridiculous things is effectively being ridiculed. You NEWS people need to seriously consider how biased you may be on this, i imagine only because you feel it 'cool' to have a go at people. Opinions are great, but an ill-informed knee-jerk brainless one is worthless.

You say you’re an atheist and believe in nothing, but if you believe in nothing then you still believe something, you believe that there is nothing to believe in, thus you are also religious, because you believe that there is nothing to believe in.

This is horrible, please look up the meaning of being 'religious' and 'atheist' . I also suggest you take the time to attend some logic lectures at university. " End Quote

Oxford Dictionary defines Atheist as one who does no believe in god or gods! Not someone who doesn't believe in anything! Maybe you should practice what you preach.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.(which god has none) This shouldn't even be an issue. i see 'god' and 'church' billboards/papers/TV ads all the time. its optional for people to believe it or not. and this campaign makes so much more sense. Once everyone thought the earth was flat, few people dis-agreed using logic, reasoning and evidence, there were also called idiots. Religion is damaging the intellect of our future generation. Atheism isn't believing in nothing, its about evaluating the evidence, even if its limited, doesn't mean we make up a fantasy story to fill the gaps. look how far we come since bronze age and people still have the same belief system. No gods books has anything like periodic table which is core product of the universe and cosmos. Religious people only point out the missing gaps in the data where they cant even present one data that can be tested, proved or presented as a FACT, science has, which doesnt involved any god or supernaturals please do put down your opinion in a respectful manner, i see angry religious replies lol, is that what Jesus/Mohammed etc teaches you?

The Bus company should have the right to choose which ads it will plaster it's buses with and not be told that it is denying free speech. Are we a free country or what????? You say you speak for the 25% but what about those who may believe that there is a God (and those who might yet believe) who would find it offensive. We say we are tolerant to all people but what about respectful to all religions. For there may come a time when enough people get tired with being p.c. (have you done a pole on that)and start as you say a dialog about what God does give to people. But that aside I come back to my earlier point that The bus company has the right as to what ads it will run and maybe it doesn't want a similar response to that given on British soil where it caused "a storm".

andrew, Don't see how the slogan classifies as "...rabid anti-clericism and fundamentalist atheism" - well, not unless words no longer have any meaning :o) You have effectively in your one sentence shot yourself in the foot if you believe open discussion isn't being tolerant. Let me guess - you're religious. Let's just respect people, not their multitude of insane beliefs. Beliefs should always be subject to open debate and criticism for that way we advance as a species.
