I watched with interest your programme last night giving examples of the what people would gain from the new tax cuts. There are many people like myself who are single and who don't get any assistance from the Govt ie working for families who will get nothing. I think it's about time John Key and he band of thieves in Wellington woke up and smelt the coffee. People earning over $100,000 don't need to be $41 better off. In my case I earn under $30,000 per annum and I won't even be able to by a block of cheese with the supposedly generous tax cut. It appears that this Govt is intent on pushing people like myself closer to the bread line and those who are earning big money better off. Unfortunately I'm only a voice in the wilderness as it's perfectly clear that low income earners don't mean much to the Govt.
wow. TV3 fail at basic math.to get the change in GST from 12.5% to 15% you do not simply add 2.5% to the retail price. You need to subtract the GST to get the ex-GST price, then add 15% to that. It is not the same thing.
