The crew of the Ady Gil was sitting on TOP of their vessel. Not only was there no one to force the boat into the path of the Japanese ship but these men would not have put their lives in such obvious peril if the plan had been to cross paths with the Japanese vessel. Those of you who think the Ady Gil would intentionally destroy their boat and nearly kill themselves for NO reason are as foolish as the Japanese whalers are immoral.
It's pretty obvious if you watch the jets on the ady gil a few seconds before the collision. The water there is calm and then all of a sudden the jets produce heavy output thrusting the boat into the ship. It's fairly obvious that it was intentional on the part of whatever individual was in control of the ady gil at the time of impact.
Ok, first point, the Ady Gil was idle, position was still, becuase they were conserving for gas. Second, the Shonan Maru No.2 changed it's course to irritate the Ady Gil as the Shonan Maru No.2 has did before to the Steve Irwin, obviously because a vessel at stand still cannot suddenly move closer to a moving ship, the moving ship moved closer to the stationary ship. So, it was the Shonan Maru No.2 who rammed the Ady Gil. I agree with SailorKB
