The Crown and the defence are summing up today in the trial of three men accused of breaking into the Waihopai spy base in Blenheim.
This morning Crown prosecutor Glen Marshall told the jury the three accused entered the base without authority and their attack was intentional.
He said the Crown doesn't dispute their good intentions – but that doesn't justify their actions.
“However, even good men can commit crimes although they believe they are doing it for the best of reasons,” he said.
Dominican Friar Peter Murnane, Otaki teacher Adrian Leason and farmer Sam Land each face two charges of burglary and one of wilful damage.
The jury is expected to retire later today.
