Australia may be forced to call in reinforcements after a record 67-5 win over the United States.
Despite the lopsided score line, the Wallabies suffered a number of new injury concerns – three of them major.
If Robbie Deans was hoping for a morale boosting win to get the Wallabies world cup campaign back on track, last night was hardly what he had in mind.
Anthony Fainga’a left concussed in the final moments of the game and along with Ron Horne's dislocated shoulder and Pat McCabe's fractured cheek, joining an already extensive Wallabies injured list that could leave Deans struggling to find a fit 22 for their next match.
Luckily for Deans the only thing growing quicker than the injury toll last night was the try count.
The American’s gave their supporters something to cheer about midway through the first half.
But from there the result was never in doubt.
The Wallabies crossing for 11 tries to record their biggest ever win over the Eagles, Adam Ashley-Cooper bagging a hat trick in a blinding seven minute burst.
The one bright note for Deans was the return of Berrick Barnes from a long layoff, good timing for the decimated Wallaby backline with the quarter finals looming.
