Steven Spielberg's War Horse has arrived in Kiwi cinemas.

The story of Albert and his horse Joey, War Horse is set in the lead-up and then during WW1, as both man and horse experience the horrors of war.

There is plenty here for fans of the book to savour I am sure, but given the incredibly emotive content and the legend of Spielberg, War Horse left me strangely and definitively unmoved on every level, with a cheesiness factor alienating me from the characters and robbing me of any connection with the story.

Two and a half stars.

This is one of my favorite all time movies. The horses are very well trained, and the movie is exciting. I love movies that feature animals. I also love "Secretariat".

I somewhat disagree. At first it is somewhat boring and you won't to fall asleep. But once the war begins it is amazing. I would give it 3 and 1/2 stars.
