A man charged with manslaughter for allegedly accidentally shooting his partner north of Auckland last month made a brief appearance in court today.
The 21-year-old man, who has name suppression, appeared in North Shore District Court today.
The judge said the summary of facts detailed how the man had been posing for photographs with a firearm.
He pointed the gun at his partner, who was taking the photos, when it went off, shooting her in the head, the court was told.
Kowhai Medical Centre staff in Warkworth found the 20-year-old woman dead on the street, after she was taken there by her 21-year-old partner on December 4. The name of the dead woman has also been suppressed.
The man was remanded on bail until his next appearance on February 23.
