Warriors’ trainers could be in hot water for abusing referees in the 10-8 loss to the Broncos on Friday night.

Referee Ben Cummins complained to NRL ground managers at halftime that he had been on the end of verbal abuse from team trainers during the first half.

Cummins could be heard telling fellow referee Chris James: "Kevin Iro and that bloke in yellow just gave us a gobful."

Former Kiwi, Kevin Iro, is not a part of the Warriors training staff but his brother Tony is employed by them and could find himself facing sanction if the NRL pursue the matter.

Iro denied the charge and said he pleaded his innocence to James during the game but was rebuffed.

"I didn't say anything to him," Iro told the Sydney Morning Herald. "I don't know if he heard the players or me barking at the players but I didn't say anything to him."
