Gisborne to Wairarapa: Fine, but isolated afternoon showers on the ranges. Warm tomorrow.
Marlborough, Canterbury and Nelson: Fine for most, but a few afternoon showers on the ranges. Cloudier tomorrow, with brief rain in South Canterbury and Nelson later.
Buller, Westland and Fiordland: Cloud increasing this afternoon and drizzle developing. Turning to rain in Fiordland and Westland tomorrow, with some heavy falls.

Thursday: North Island, drizzle developing from Waitomo to Kapiti, clearing from Northland and mainly fine elsewhere. South Island, thundery rain in the west and becoming showery in the far south with hail developing and snow lowering to 500 metres. Just high cloud elsewhere.
Friday: North Island, showers, but longer fine spells from Hawkes Bay to Bay of Plenty. South Island, showery with hail.
Chatham Islands: Rain or drizzle at first on Wednesday, clearing afternoon with strong northwesterlies turning southwest. Mainly fine Thursday with strengthening northwesterlies. Showers developing on Friday with a southwest change.
