Thursday: Fine or becoming fine in most places. However, a few showers in the far north, and cloudy periods in Fiordland.
Friday: North Island, fine apart from a few showers in the far north. South Island, high cloud increasing, drizzle developing in Westland, rain developing in Fiordland spreading to the Glaciers later.
Saturday: North Island, long fine spells in most places, cloud increasing from Taranaki to Wairarapa southwards with scattered rain later. South Island, rain in the north and west, heavy falls about the ranges, and scattered falls further east, easing in Westland and Fiordland later and clearing in Otago and Southland.
Chatham Islands: Showers gradually clearing on Thursday and southwesterlies easing further. Long fine spells and light winds on Friday. Increasing cloudy periods and freshening northerlies on Saturday.
