Coromandel and Bay of Plenty: A few showers. Fine spells increasing.
Waikato to Manawatu, including the central high country, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa: Mainly fine. However, a few showers about Taranaki this morning, and isolated afternoon showers about Waikato and Taupo.
Horowhenua Kapiti Coast and Wellington: Cloudy periods and a few morning showers.
Nelson and Marlborough: Fine, with high cloud. A few spots of rain developing about the western ranges of Nelson this afternoon.
Canterbury: Cloudy increasing, with occasional rain spreading north.
Otago and Southland: Mostly cloudy, with occasional rain.
Buller and northern Westland: Cloud and scattered rain developing by evening.
Southern Westland and Fiordland: Rain spreading north, heavy for a time.
Chatham Islands: Long fine spells, the odd shower possible.
Tuesday: North Island, scattered rain from Manawatu to Wairarapa southwards, long fine spells further north. South Island, rain at times in most places, clearing later in Canterbury and inland Marlborough, but generally dry in Otago and Southland.
Wednesday: North Island, scattered light rain or drizzle in the east, fine or becoming fine elsewhere. South Island, remaining rain clearing early morning, then cloudy periods, with morning drizzle patches in the east.
Thursday Friday: North Island, fine apart from cloudy periods in the east. South Island, cloudy periods, mainly in the east.
Chatham Islands: A period of rain on Tuesday, and northerly winds turning southerly. Cloudy periods on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Southerlies dying away on Wednesday.
