Gisborne: Mainly fine, a few showers tomorrow afternoon.
Coastal Wanganui to Wellington, also Wairarapa: Scattered rain developing tonight, clearing early tomorrow.
Nelson, Marlborough, Buller and northern Westland: Scattered rain spreading north today. Rain clearing Nelson and Marlborough overnight, and elsewhere tomorrow afternoon, leaving fine spells.
The remainder of the South Island: A band of rain spreading northwards today, followed by a cold southerly change and a few showers. Showers becoming confined to southern Fiordland, Southland and Clutha tomorrow, mostly fine elsewhere.
Chatham Islands: Occasional rain.
Wednesday: Fine, apart from isolated afternoon and evening showers over the northern half of the North Island, especially about the ranges, and a few morning drizzle patches near Foveaux Strait.
Thursday: North Island, mainly fine, a few afternoon and evening showers over the northern half. South Island, showers developing in the west and cold southwesterlies and showers moving onto the far south by evening. Fine elsewhere.
Friday: Southerlies spreading over the country bringing a few showers to most places, but clearing over the South Island.
Chatham Islands: A few showers on Wednesday with fresh cold southwesterlies. Mainly fine on Thursday with winds tending northwest. Showers and strong cold southwesterlies on Friday.
