From Northland to Manawatu, including Coromandel, Taupo, Taumarunui and Taihape: Fine spells and a few showers.
Bay of Plenty: Mainly fine.
Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa: Mostly fine, but cloud spreading north during the afternoon and evening with a few showers possible south of Napier.
Kapiti to Wellington, also Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury: Areas of cloud this morning, otherwise fine.
Buller: Occasional showers.
Westland and Fiordland: Scattered rain clearing this morning then fine spells, but patchy drizzle developing this evening, and turning to rain in Fiordland.
Otago and Southland: Showers becoming confined to the south coast this morning, then slowly clearing.
Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods and a few showers.

Thursday: North Island, cloudy periods increasing in the north and west with late drizzle there, fine in the east. South Island, rain or showers in the west with heavy falls,cloud increasing elsewhere, with late rain in the north and far south.
Friday: Rain or showers spreading to most places, with heavy falls in western areas. Snow to 600 metres in Fiordland.
Saturday: North Island, showers in the north and west gradually clearing, fine or becoming fine in the east. South Island, cloudy in the west with rain developing there, fine with high cloud elsewhere.
Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods Thursday, with westerlies turning northerly. Rain developing and northwesterlies strengthening on Friday, then clearing early Saturday with a southwest change.Cloud increasing and winds turning northwest again during Saturday.
