Westland, Fiordland: Showers in Fiordland turning to rain overnight, with heavy and possible thundery falls, spreading to Westland tomorrow morning, and easing from the south. Snow lowering to near sea level in Fiordland later.
Canterbury: Becoming fine this afternoon. Scattered showers returning tomorrow afternoon, snow lowering to 300 metres at night.
Otago, Southland: Scattered showers clearing this evening. Showers spreading north tomorrow, snow lowering to near sea level later.
Chatham Islands: A few showers.
Sunday: North Island, occasional showers, with snow lowering to 500 metres in the far south, mostly clearing from North Taranaki and Taupo to Coromandel Peninsula northwards later, and in the southwest at night. South Island, showers, with snow to low levels, receding to the south, and exposed eastern coasts later, becoming mainly fine elsewhere.
Monday: North Island, isolated showers in the north, remaining showers elsewhere clearing, them mainly fine, morning frosts in sheltered places. South Island, mainly fine with morning frosts, remaining showers receding to near Foveaux Strait.
Tuesday: Mainly fine with morning frosts, isolated showers in the far north and near Foveaux Strait at first, and cloudy periods in Fiordland.
Chatham Islands: Rain easing to occasional showers early Sunday with a change to cold strengthening southwesterlies. Strong cold southwesterlies and showers on Monday and Tuesday.
