Two Wellington software developers are poised to hit the big time with their Apple applications after the company featured them in its latest marketing campaign.
Being featured in an Apple ad is the sort of promotion software developers Angus Deacon and Andrew Empson have wanted for a long time.
They say they used to joke about one day being on a bus stop, on a poster, or in an Apple ad – but never believed it would actually happen.
The Wellington duo created CoachPad, an iPad application which acts as computerised white board for coaches to plan plays.
They hope the extra publicity will help them to push past the 26,000 downloads the application has already achieved.
Developer Mario Wynands’ Flick Kick Field Goal app has had around a million downloads. He says a big boost in sales came after it was featured in the ad campaign.
The advertisements will continue to be rolled out globally over the next few months.
