Campbell Live thought it would be easy to get interviews at Te Papa North, and wanted to show you through Te Papa's storerooms to see what treasures could possibly be lent to an Auckland exhibition building.
Te Papa refused.
Wellington's mayor is tentative about the Te Papa North project too.
She wouldn't want to see visitors arrive in Auckland and think they'd done Te Papa and had no need to visit the national museum in Wellington.
Many national collections - the Tate and the Guggenheim for example have four or five other exhibition buildings in other cities.
So is it a good idea for Te Papa?
