Jockeys shared the winner's enclosure with skiers at the annual White Turf meeting in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
The famous resort's frozen lake played host to a number of events - from traditional flat racing to skijoring, where riders on skis are pulled by the horses.
St. Moritz - a name synonymous with skiing - also attracts thousands of horse racing aficionados every February.
The two sports are combined at the White Turf event, which was first held on the resort's frozen lake in 1907.
In the skijoring race, jockeys on skis are pulled by their horses.
Run over 2,700 metres (2953 yards), Mombasa driven by Adrian Von Gunten held off a strong challenge from Bergonzi and his rider Fadri Casty to take the honours.
In the trotting race - the 1,700 metre (1,859 yards) GP Allegra Passugger - Sonate de Bono produced a powerful sprint finish to clinch victory with Armin Koller in the sulky.
Exchange ridden by Tim Buergin burst clear of the field to win the flat race.
The horses, riders, skiers and champagne-drinking spectators will return to the track next Sunday (February 19th) for White Turf's concluding series of races.
