When the girls go hunting

Think of your typical hunter, and you'll probably imagine a big burly bloke in camo with five days worth of stubble and the body odour of a billy goat.
Probably because he's got a billy goat slung across each shoulder.
But real blokes be warned - Lachlan Forsyth has met some young female hunters who ventured into that male world, and won.

Dear Samantha, as a friend of animals and a passionate greenie i happened to see the boar after the kill. Maybe a fluke, the pig was shot directly between the eyes and died instantly. every part of the animal was eatin and the forest which it came from wont be uprooted like a dogs dinner and you will breath again and food will be on your table. Dont worry the country is in good hands.

Once again belittling comments from the latte quaffing crowd who seem to spend most of their time in the cities, shame you don't realize that pigs are a introduced species that carry TB,kill lambs, destroy pastures, but that's ok,with you Sam,because you're probably not a farmer,or someone who enjoys getting dirty,if its ok for you to put up your comments deriding these young women, then i guess its ok for me to put up my comments of support for them and criticism of yours.

Promoting a lack of empathy for animals is a poor choice in a country where too many animals are already abused. I didn’t think it was great news that the most inexperienced member of their team was tasked with the job of killing the boar. I question her ability to make a ‘humane’ kill. Please don’t try to label this as a good, feeling ‘women in a man’s world’ type of article. There are much more valuable and noteworthy examples of this in New Zealand.
