Where is Gordon Ward and why isn’t he giving evidence to the Royal Commission on Pike River?
Gordon Ward was CEO of Pike River and from the design and planning, through the share issues and financing, to the building, for a over a decade the mine was Mr Ward’s “baby”.
He remained CEO until two months before the explosion after which Peter Whittall was promoted into the job.
Mr Whittall has fronted many times throughout the investigation but Mr Gordon never has.
