Kim Dotcom has become one of New Zealand’s most recognisable faces, but little is known about his wife, Mona.

Currently pregnant with twins, Mona Dotcom sparked an online storm when she appeared at court to support her husband earlier in the week – how had the beautiful wife of a multi-millionaire managed to stay out of the spotlight?

An online search for Mona Dotcom brings up very little information except the news stories of the past weeks – no clues to her background or upbringing.

Even her nationality is unclear, although some websites suggest she is a former model from the Philippines.

She and Dotcom have three previous children together – two sons and a daughter – and relocated to New Zealand in 2009.

Evidently adored by Dotcom, Mona is reported to have spent New Years’ Eve watching thousands of dollars’ worth of fireworks paid for by her husband.

A question mark now hovers over Mona’s involvement in Megaupload, with speculation that she is now being investigated for her role in the company.

Dotcom was arrested in February and is awaiting extradition to the United States, where he is facing charges of racketeering, copyright infringement and money laundering in relation to Megaupload.

He is currently on bail and has been granted $32,650 to live off for three weeks, after seeking significantly more at a High Court hearing.

Dotcom and his wife sought $28,000 a month to pay for household expenses and an additional $29,000 for staff and maintenance costs for their $10 million mansion.

Dotcom says he wants to stay in New Zealand and raise his children here.

Considering that the man in the picture above has just spent a month detained under extremely dubious and obviously stressful circumstance and had his business endeavors utterly, if not criminally, vandalized, he appears to be very content in the company of his wife

Kim Dotcom and his wife appear to be contented parents trying to make a new life in New Zealand - he has invested heavily in our country so let's be grateful for that and give these folk a break! After all what have they done that's wrong in this country? Nothing.

@gRoup2- facepalm. Sheeple. He has been arrested for doing the exact same thing as Youtube. They have fulfilled their legal obligations by taking down offending materials when brought to their attention. How is a US government agency allowed to dissolve a company worth a billion dollars overnight with no due process? With no legal basis? Why isn't the legally relevant side of this story portrayed in the media? Why are they allowed to come to NZ and do this? These questions are of course ,rhetorical, as we all know why. Time for the movie and music industry to shape up or ship off. Also time for the NZ government to stop following the US off a cliff. Something very wrong with the balance of power in the US.

You are an idiot.

You are an idiot for believing the propaganda coming from the fascist US government. The US government has been hick-jacked by the corporations.

Kim Dotcom has done nothing wrong you moron!

Yo don't' see that? Hollywood want to destroy internet because it is a disruptive technology for their monopole.

Don't you see what is wrong with killing a company such as MegaUpload without trial or any kind or due process? Do you think that it is legal in USA to do something like this?

These parasites are indeed ready to destroy the planet to keep their monopole and their power. But what all these fools are going to get is an unhappy ending at the end of a rope.

Hollywood is great at making heroes out of seems like a bad guy. Kim is being targeted as a scapegoat, just like MPAA and RIAA did with users when the "war on piracy" started. It looks a lot like the war on drugs they fought and lost.. started by taking on the users, then the dealers, just to finally realize that waging a war does very little damage on "underground activities" that are only being done this way because the official model is crippled with old and stupid rules.
