After 13 years in her husband’s shadow, Hannah Tamaki is seeking to extend her own power and influence

Hannah Tamaki, wife of Destiny Church founder Brian Tamaki, wants to become president of the Maori Women's Welfare League, but they’re fighting tooth-and-nail to keep her out.

After 13 years in her husband’s shadow, Hannah Tamaki is seeking to extend her own power and influence.

She wants to become president of the Maori Women's Welfare League, a role held by women of distinction for over 60 years.

But some leaders of the League are afraid that Hannah’s presidency will lead to a Destiny takeover. And what has ensued is an almighty battle, complete with allegations of vote-stacking, dirty tactics and even a head-to-head encounter in the High Court.

Reporter Karen McCarthy meets Hannah and Bishop Brian Tamaki to find out what this stoush is all about.

Making changes to your constitution before the presidential
Elections..Why..???..PARANOIA about something that does not exist...I wonder Why...??? We know the obvious but is there more going on within the inner circle...?

I hope that the changes made was done out of a.. SPIRIT.. of aroha and humility as befitting Tikanga and not out of
vendetta that have already permeated your being ..

Prejudiced because of unfounded allegations that has become a reality that you cannot see the daylight because of the veil of darkness you have allowed...

..Thats good Glenn...
That is everybodys right as NZ citizens to stand on their own two feet...NZ would be a better country for having people you.. and the government wouldnt have to worry about meeting the need of every NZander...BUT..not every body is like you and me...
It amazes me that every organization in this nation is vying for the Kiwi dollar to help them get their projects off the ground. Every day something, someone, some organization, some business, some charity is asking for money..and playing to charitable hearts of kiwis...and the vulnerable who really needs to keep that money and pay their bills, stick their STUPID hand in there pockets and give without wisdom...They get caught up with the MOMENT...who cares so long as they make their money....
Alcohol,drugs,gambling,...If ever there was blatant corruption done in secrecy without transparency and over a time creates a monster it is happening right under our noses and under the noses of people in high places..but they to ignore it or find an excuse for it and call it another name.

Get your facts right...Tikanga Lore or Pakeha Law...Judges ruling was based on Tikanga Lore...If Pakeha Law challenged Tikanga law...Then it becomes a different story...

So she wants to be leader of MWWL, this after she sets up 10 branches of destiny idiots ready to vote for her. It's a set up, no two ways about it. Both her and her husband are trying to take over what they can. They are power hungry cultists and I for one will not be sucked into their rubbish. I can stand on my own two feet, make my own decisions, set my own goals. I do not need a destiny crutch.

Ruz and Graeme...It amazes me that people are so quick to judge based on Media frenzy,Media hearsay, Media whatever...and make comments from your homes, that are in fact unfounded...
The President ON HER OWN do not have a say regarding money..Commonsense tells me that..A voting process has to take place...matters discussed...thats commonsense...decisions made...thats commonsense...

So my commonsense tells me, no way can anyone orchestrate,a campaign(certainly not in MWWL) solely because it was about the money, and get away with it....NADA..!

Be interested however to find out how much the Manager of MWWL is being paid..given that it is government money(tax payer money to be precise)....just speaking out aloud..!!

It was interesting watching the clip on the news this morning. During her husband's preaching Mrs Tamaki was working on her laptop and then during a charity fucntion she was sitting there texting. I suppose if she becomes President of MWWL, we can expect to see her knitting!. There was nothing sincere in her interview!

The public can be reasonably satisfied that Hannah Tamaki's candidacy for the presidency of the league is part of a carefully orchestrated campaign by the Destiny Church to take over the league. It's all about the money.
