Wiggles heading to New Zealand
Wed, 05 Sep 2012 7:00p.m.
Bring out your skivvies, the Wiggles are on their way to New Zealand.
Anthony, Murray, Greg and Jeff perform in Wellington this Saturday for the first of 27 shows around the country.
It promises to be an emotionally charged visit because for three of the Wiggles, this'll be their final tour; their last drive of the big red car, their last outing for those famous skivvies.
After 21 years, 6000 shows, seven million CDs and 23 million DVDs, Murray, Greg and Jeff are retiring.
For millions of kids around the world, the end of the original Wiggles was a devastating blow.
But for our own Tristram Clayton the news was long overdue.
You see, Tristram has always thought he had what it took to be a Wiggle, and now there was an opening.
Of course we didn't have the heart to tell him three replacements had already been found.
The Wiggles will perform in Wellington, Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Auckland, Hamilton, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill. Tickets are currently on sale.
