We, in the West, theoretically believe in the freedom of information. The US government calls the war in Afghanistan "Operation Enduring Freedom". We demand more press freedom in China, and on it goes.
But Julian Assange, the man behind WikiLeaks, is now reviled in the American political establishment for using the limits of that freedom to look deep into the way the US sees the world.
Now he's in jail in London, awaiting a decision on whether he'll face rape charges in Sweden.
Campbell Live spoke to one of his lawyers - Melbourne barrister, James Catlin – who has represented Assange previously.
