Wild Wellington weather to continue
Sun, 09 Sep 2012 8:21a.m.
Wellingtonians will be hit by more high winds today that could top 100kmh.
Conditions are much calmer than yesterday though, when planes struggled to land and main roads had to close.
Now Metservice Forecaster, Allister Gorman, says people living in the lower South Island are being warned to prepare for an icy cold snap.
“I think the next few days will feel a little bit like a return to winter in the far south especially,” he says.
A severe weather warning remains in place for the lower North Island and western parts of the South Island.
