Between Christmas and New Year, residents of Lima have a chance to try to boost their chances of attaining their dreams in 2010.
Since 1999, the Fair of the Wishes has brought the mystic traditions of Peru's indigenous people to the capital.
Fairgoers can have their fortunes read by Andean priests or take part in cleansing and other rituals to improve their chances of success.
The fair brings to Lima rituals that the people of the Altiplano region have practiced for hundreds of years.
They include the festival of miniatures, where a hopeful customer buys a tiny replica of the object of their desires - whether it's money, a home or car.
Residents also perform ritual cleansings, which include bathing in incense smoke and a shower of flower petals.
The shaman also places the carcass of a condor on customers to remove bad "vibes" and bring good luck.
Shaman Lidia Cortez calls the fair a "festival of faith and hope".
"All of us have a goal for next year - to have a house, a car, finish a job, get into university, open a business, have a company, we always have a goal. And in this fair of the wishes, they can get a little piece of that dream," she said.
