A woman has died after a fall on Lion Rock in Piha west of Auckland.
The 36-year-old was believed to be climbing with friends when she fell to her death, Sergeant Andrew Burdett of Henderson police said.
The woman's body was found at the base of Lion Rock about 2:45am this morning.
Her name is not being released while police try to contact family members in Australia.
