A Florida woman has just celebrated her 105th birthday with a party in the place where she's been volunteering for 38 years.

Dorrie Aber Noyek still does volunteer work at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. She briskly walks the halls, picking up and delivering mail.

"Volunteering has been important to me as long as I can remember. I feel I want to give back. I think I'm very fortunate very lucky very blessed." she says.

The UK born centenarian has never driven a car. She prefers to walk everywhere she goes.

"From when I was quite young, all my life in England anyway, we never had a car, not at all," she remembers, "And I've always walked. I've always walked miles."

Noyek's 77-year-old daughter came all the way from Toronto, Canada, to celebrate her mother's birthday at the hospital.

"When people hear how old she is they're shocked because nobody has seen a person of that age who is able to get around they way she does and who has the mental abilities she has," says Audrey Steinhauer. "She lives completely on her own in a regular condo."

For her birthday, Noyek indulged in a piece of cake. She says she usually eats small meals and has never been overweight. But she confesses to having a weakness for chocolate chip cookies.

"Not too much fat, not too much sweets. Although to this day I eat cookies everyday!"

Noyek has outlived two husbands and seven siblings. She still reads the entire newspaper every day and does the crossword puzzle.

She says her secret is to never complain.

Her secret is her inbuilt DNA, diet constant walking, and having enough money to sustain herself without worry.
