Steve Williams is preparing for the Presidents Cup

Kiwi caddie Steve Williams has again shown his claws, taking a swipe at former boss Tiger Woods as they prepare to go head-to-head when the Presidents Cup tees off on Thursday.

Williams says Woods, who's won 14 majors, has no chance of breaking Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 major titles.

Tiger’s refused to bite as the pair get closer to a highly anticipated meeting at the Presidents Cup.

“I’m just grateful to be on the team,” he says.

“[US captain Fred Couples] could have picked anybody, and I’m thankful he had faith in me to be part of the team.”

Couples names Woods as his captain’s pick – and it's hard to argue with Woods' match play record, especially his unbeaten finish at the 2009 Presidents Cup.

If anyone's got a point to prove this weekend it's the international team, whose record in the Presidents Cup is in need of improvement

The international team's first and only win came in 1998, at Royal Melbourne.

Williams could do everyone a service by keeping his mouth shut. Who interviews him anyway? Why is his opinion news? He has shown himself to be a fool in the past (quote : "mountain into a mole-hole") - he will eventually become an object of ridicule if he doesn't focus on what he is paid to do.
