Investigations into former MP Richard Worth are now complete, Wellington police confirmed today.

Worth was under police investigation for what is thought to be a serious complaint of a sexual nature.

Police had completed a careful and thorough investigation into the matter, the officer in charge of the enquiry, Detective Inspector Paul Basham said. The investigation including a peer review by a senior CIB officer and assessment by Police legal advisors.

In a statement released in June, Dr Worth said that he will steadfastly defend himself.

"I wish only to restate that I have not committed any crime, and I remain confident that when the true facts are established I will be cleared of any and all allegations of criminal conduct," he said.

Following the investigation, police have determined there is no basis for proceeding with any criminal charge against Dr Worth.

let's see. Two Labour supporters claim that a national MP had sexually interacted with them. It was a given from the start this was another labour smear campaign and that there was no legal grounds for any action to be taken. Just goes to show how low Labour often sink. I hope he turns around and sues these two woman including Phil Goff for the claims he made.
