X-Men films a metaphor

The X-Men movies are seen by many as far more than just blockbusters.
The first of the movies went to air on TV3 tonight.
Despite being on the face of it a high action super hero blockbuster, many learned observers have seen it as far more than that.
Some people in the gay community see the X-Men characters in the films as a metaphor for themselves, while psychologists see racial politics portrayed in the films.
