A rare red-eyed Bennett's Tree albino kangaroo born seven months ago at a farm near Szczecin, north-western Poland, is fast becoming its star attraction.

Kangaroo breeder Lucyna Zlamaniec said many visitors come to the farm to also see the baby kangaroo's parents, but the young one attracts more attention because it's white.

Zlamaniec said she didn't know the kangaroo was an albino straight away because it was bald when it was born.

But when it was "four, five moths old, fur started to grow and that was the moment we saw she was white with red eyes. It even had white eyelashes," she said.

So far Zlamaniec doesn't know the sex of the rare animal, but she suspects it's a female.

"Males have got a longer and thicker tail. It (the albino kangaroo) is young, so it will grow a little bit but there are signs that it's a she."

The white furry kangaroo lives with its parents in a small enclosure but its keeper said it would soon be moved to a larger cage this coming winter.

Bennett's Tree Kangaroos are large tree kangaroos that can weigh up to 20kg.

They have long tails, measuring up to 70cm and long bodies of up to 90cm.
