Young man's 7 foot view

You might remember Shaquille Ioane, the young boy from Kawerau who had size 17 feet and couldn't find rugby boots.
Well after that story ran, another mum emailed us.
Not only had her son Ayrton just turned 17 but his feet are size 18, he's seven feet tall and he’s still growing.
Anna Burns-Francis went to meet him.

Hi, My son is Mark Overdevest & he is 7 ft 2, 2.18m. This story so reminded me of my son. we had great problems with finding a car for Mark & eventually had one modified. If Ayrton's Mum wants any advice or support I am happy to talk to her. My son is now 19 & has had amazing experiences with having been in America for the last 3 years at High school & is now currently starting Uni over there. His height has been a great factor, as well as his academics & atitude. Stand tall Ayrton, you have been given a gift. Good Luck with your future
