One Direction star Zayn Malik has deleted his Twitter account after growing tired of constant abuse from followers.
The British singer took to the social networking site on Tuesday to tell his five million fans he was logging off for good.
He wrote, "The reason I don't tweet as much as I used to, is because I'm sick of all the useless opinions and hate I get daily goodbye twitter.
"My fans that have something nice to say can tweet me on the one direction account."
Devastated devotees of the star showed their disappointment by starting 'ComeBackZayn' as one of Twitter's most popular 'trending' topics.
