Guess its time to ask for an update from Jo and Shay on the efficiency of their project, now that it must be up and running. We all watching with interest!

I totally agree with what Matt says.Being the first is irrelevant, telling the story and spreading the word in a open way is what its all about. I also think its important to note that Jo and Shay intend to get independant certification of the net zero energy performance of the house and also an official homestar rating Without this verification any claims are worthless I would hope you would be doing the same Barbara if you feel so strongly about the 'truth'

Barbara...I work on this project. We've spent many hours trying to find another ZEH, have spoken with industry bodies to get their opinion, and are part of an International Energy Agency study which sees us as the first in the country. That said, it really doesn't matter to us. Our goal is to spread the message that it can be done and show how to do it. It's irrelevant if we're first, second, or tenth. We'd love to hear more about any ZEH projects you're aware of - we can profile them on the website too. Contact us via the Zero Energy House website...thanks...
